Hyundai E&C and Hyundai Livart are joining forces to expand the former’s new residential improvement business into the interiors of residential units.

On Thursday, the 22nd, Hyundai E&C signed a MOU with Hyundai Livart at THE H Gallery in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The agreement is titled “Mutual Cooperation for Total Residential Environment Improvement in Common Areas and Residential Units of THE NEW HOUSE.”

The agreement is intended to strengthen the business competitiveness of Hyundai E&C’s ongoing “THE NEW HOUSE” initiative and to increase customer satisfaction. Key executives from both companies attended the signing ceremony, including Lee Ingi, head of Hyundai E&C’s Architecture and Housing Business Division, as well as Kwon Taejin, head of Hyundai Livart’s Lifestyle Division, and Kang Minsoo, head of its Business Solutions Division.

“THE NEW HOUSE,” a new business venture Hyundai E&C launched in June of last year, is a comprehensive residential improvement project designed to raise the value of aging apartment complexes. Aimed at apartment buildings completed in the 2000s, the project upgrades all common areas, including exteriors, landscaping, community facilities, and smart systems. It also provides customized improvement plans based on a comprehensive analysis of each complex’s location, structure, and the degree to which its facilities have deteriorated. The project further aims to improve the overall quality of the living environment, upgrading everything from specialized exterior designs to community spaces and landscaping that reflect residents’ lifestyles.

Hyundai E&C plans to further expand the scope of THE NEW HOUSE through a business partnership with Hyundai Livart, whose work spans building materials, home finishing, construction, and interior design. In particular, because the degree of deterioration and interior design preferences vary by household, the company plans to let households selectively request renovations of their private units. The approach aims to deliver integrated improvements to the communal areas while simultaneously meeting the needs of individual households, thereby raising satisfaction with the project.

Through this agreement, the two companies will collaborate on ▲the implementation of THE NEW HOUSE project, ▲the design and development of specialized products for common and private areas, and ▲interior design consultations for private areas for interested households. Hyundai E&C will oversee the project and develop plans and implementation strategies for each complex, while Hyundai Livart will handle the interior design of each unit, drawing on the design and construction experience of its interior design brand, “Zipterior.”

A Hyundai E&C official said, “Interest in renewal projects is growing as an alternative to reconstruction and remodeling, driven by recent high interest rates, rising construction costs and the prolonged duration of redevelopment projects,” adding, “With ‘THE NEW HOUSE,’ Hyundai E&C plans to continue providing customized residential improvement solutions that reflect residents’ tastes and lifestyles, building on the convenience of proceeding without relocation, streamlined procedures and optimized construction processes.”
